The OPEXplus digital torque wrench 15 February 2023

Bosch Rexroth has added what it calls “a particularly economical” new product to its existing range of tightening solutions – the OPEXplus digital torque wrench, which is highly accurate and ensures fatigue-free operation thanks to its ergonomic design.

The OPEXplus digital torque wrench covers a range of torques from 3Nm to 800Nm and transfers the tightening results to any IT systems – with no need for additional control. In networks, OPEXplus torque tools identify themselves via their embedded WiFi module; when a tool in an assembly line is changed, the module can simply be plugged into the new screwdriver. The supplied software also allows parameterisation via a hotspot, the customer network, or a serial interface. The intelligent OPEXplus transmits tightening results with a tightening curve, as well as maximum torque and angle of rotation.

To make this possible, the digital wrench supports popular protocols, such as OpenProtocol, IPM or XML. A standard 21700 lithium-ion rechargeable cell, which is available worldwide, supplies the power. Thanks to an optical aiming device, the camera-based scanner of the ergonomically optimised torque and angle-controlled wrench, allows barcodes and QR codes to be scanned in and transferred to higher level systems, quickly and correctly.

An LED display ring on the handle is visible from all directions and shows the tightening process and tightening results. A vibration module providing touch confirmation is also optionally available. The wrench’s colour display also allows the torque and angle-controlled wrench to be operated intuitively.
