KNIPEX-Werk C. Gustav Putsch KG has introduced the Cobra® QuickSet Water Pump Pliers designed for the professional user, which it says are substantially lighter than comparable pipe wrenches.
Headquartered in Wuppertal, Germany, KNIPEX says the 250mm long high-tech Water Pump Pliers have enormous gripping capacity and a ‘QuickSet’ function. This innovative function combines Cobra®’s proven, reliable locking of the hinge bolt with an additional push function, making it easier to work in confined and inaccessible areas.
Using the ‘QuickSet’ function is as easy as ‘open, push and grab’. Once the pliers have been put into place the gripping width of the pliers is fixed and can only be adjusted or released by pressing the QuickSet button again. To reactivate the sliding QuickSet function, the hinge bolt must be released by pressing the push button and the pliers must be completely opened again.
“The teeth on all Cobra models have a groundbreaking design and, like the snake which gave the range its name, they pitilessly grab the item being worked upon. The pliers are also specially hardened during manufacture to approximately 61 HRC, so the firm grip is extremely long-lasting. Forged and oil-hardened the pliers have all the hallmarks of KNIPEX quality – made in Germany.”
