Wera Werk Hermann Werner GmbH & Co KG says its range of 19 torque screwdrivers, launched earlier this year, are ideal for every conceivable mini and micro application.
The mini and micro torque screwdrivers are available in a preset version with a fixed torque value or as an adjustable model with variable torque ranges. In the case of the adjustable model, the required torque value can be quickly and easily set by hand with no additional special tools necessary. The preset models can also be adjusted should this be requested.
Just like conventional torque tools in larger dimensions, the new mini and micro torque screwdrivers feature a click function. When the preset torque value is reached, the user hears and feels a distinct excess load signal. This click signals the end of the screwdriving process. On the other hand, the loosening torque transferred by hand to the screwdriver is unlimited, which means that even extremely seized screws can be loosened.
The adjustable torque screwdrivers also feature a detachable magnifying element, which Wera says simplifies the setting of the desired torque value on a relatively small scale.
Six of these models will now be designed as workshop versions with a torque control range of 0.1Nm to 1.6Nm. Thirteen models will also be designed in the ESD format for electronic applications with a control range of 0.02Nm to 1.6Nm.
