Videx Machine Engineering is offering an updated design of its wheel bolt thread roller, which is capable of thread rolling up to 360 wheel bolts per minute.

The Videx dual spindle machine accepts headed parts directly from the header or from a vibratory feeder. It then thread rolls in the first station and knurls under the head in a second station. The thread and knurl rolling operations are independent of each other, eliminating any influence of one rolling operation on the other – enabling faster production rates; better quality parts; and the use of simple and economical rolling dies.

“The dual spindle design means that individual adjustments require less operator skills and assure better control of the quality of each rolling operation,” points out Yair Wiesenfeld from Videx Machine Engineering. “Separate rolling operations also assure better quality of the knurl and the thread. Plus, the second operation does not slow down the machine, which leads to higher production speeds.”

Both stations are also equipped with controlled thread rolling feed-start, auto die clamping, a zero taper mechanism for parallel threads and micrometric thread pressure screws, as well as full speed control, automatic air shut-off and two operator control panels.  

Videx U-bolt technology

Videx has also expanded its bent bolt line and is now offering fully automatic anchor bolt and U-bolt machines up to M27, from coil or bars, and the thread length range has been also extended to 200mm.

The machines and lines are all modular, allowing the customers maximum flexibility by adding modules such as chamfering and extrusion of the bar ends. The machines pull the wire from coil, straighten it, cut to length, thread roll one or both ends and bend to shape. Chamfering is optional on all models.

“In the new line of VAS-DBQ machines, customers will no longer have to make bending dies for each part,” explains Yair. “The new machines are supplied with a floating bending die that covers the entire range of anchor bolts and U-bolts, round or square. Change over between sizes also only takes minutes and allows the machine owners to give a very quick reply to their customers.”

Yair adds: “All the new models are equipped with process control systems that secure the machine from operators’ mistakes, prevent jams, and assure longer life of the tooling.”
