Tecno Impianti Srl has introduced a new 2025 series of one of its bestselling machines, the AP power-driven horizontal uncoiler. The power-driven uncoiler is a key element in fastener production lines, to ensure a smooth wire feeding process for cold heading machines and in-line wire drawing machines.
Covering a range of wire diameters from 7mm – 38mm, the AP power-driven uncoilers can be utilised with drawn wire or with rolled or semi-finished wire. It is available in different versions – the AP-R, AP-DR and the AP-XL.
The AP-R, with rotating base and single coil loading arm, is suitable for customers who have space problems and must rotate the uncoiler of 90° or more, for loading the coil on the uncoiler arm. Another version is the AP-DR with double coil loading arm for when the reduction of downtimes is a key requirement. While the production machine is being fed with one coil of wire, an operator places on the opposite arm a new coil and starts pre-straightening it; so, when the first coil will be depleted, the machine will rotate and the new coil will be ready for processing. Lastly, the AP-XL with longer coil-holding arm answers the need for hosting longer and heavier coils.
To add to its range of uncoilers, Tecno Impianti has also designed and manufactured a series of accessories to complement the new machines. This includes a new device utilised for opening the first coil winding, in presence of wire diameters of 30mm or more, which is present on the AP30, AP35 and AP40 bigger models, as well as a new pre-straightening system. The new system is more flexible and can help the operator when dealing, on the same machine, with wires with different technical characteristics, which require different adjustments or set-up of the machine.
