New, compact monitor for forming processes 05 July 2017

MARPOSS, a specialist in measurement and testing technology, has expanded its product family of premium quality systems for monitoring forming presses and rollers with the new X1 monitor under the BRANKAMP brand name.

Within the range of particularly economical solutions the new X1 provides additional channels by which the increasing complexity of even simple machines is covered. Eight channels for sensor signals and four others as zoom channels for the detailed monitoring of specific, sensitive process areas are available. The signals can be displayed, for instance, as maximum forces, envelope curves or trend progressions. The additional inputs are needed for monitoring distorted parts or a wire feed stop, for example, which are in demand even on inexpensive machines – for which the X1 was designed. The X1 is operated by means of a 7 inch touch screen. The interface to the machine is identical to that of the larger X3, which is also now equipped with eight sensor channels.

“We’ve simplified our portfolio for the users. The devices are invariably operated in the same way, no matter what the scope of the monitoring tasks. The X1 embodies a basic solution that, in its features and intuitive operation, satisfies the high demands that our customers place on the X series,” says Remco Westerink, product manager, forming and stamping at MARPOSS Group.

“The in-process monitoring absolutely contributes to increased productivity because abnormalities in the process are detected early enough and the consequential costs are minimised as a result. The entire X series is used for the monitoring of forming processes. Each system enables the selection of the type of machine to be monitored.”

In addition to the multichannel display, the systems have various analysis functions such as automatic recording of run and set-up times or downtimes, as well as different counters and storage media by which the reproducibility of the processes is facilitated.
