For the final part of our series highlighting ‘Carlo Salvi Stories’ – a series of articles celebrating business collaborations, successes and shared goals – we focus on how Carlo Salvi has helped Solvera Gaweł Technology S.A reorganise production and integrate digital technologies for automation, process monitoring and data collection.
Founded in 1983 and specialising in the production of high-quality fasteners, Poland-based Solvera manufactures screws for plastic and wood, metric bolts, as well as self-tapping screws for a wide range of applications, including the automotive industry in Europe, USA, China, India, Mexico, Brazil and Russia.
An increase in orders, as well as an expansion into a new 2,500m2 area, laid the foundations for a collaboration between Solvera and Carlo Salvi. “Solvera is a state of the art company always looking to the future. Needing to increase the number of parts in our range, we needed machines that stood out for their innovative features. That’s when we found Carlo Salvi – an authentic strategic partner, able not only to provide us with the best technologies, but also to support us significantly in terms of training and assistance,” explains Grzegorz Gawel, vice-president at Solvera Gaweł Technology.
With a goal to add automation to its production, 15 headers – all a high technical specification, of double stroke models CS 001, CS 002 and CS 003 – have now been installed at Solvera’s plant in Poland. Developed in compliance with the principle of Industry 4.0, the headers enable the company to meet automation goals by offering production efficiency, as well as time and cost savings. Touchscreens also facilitate operators’ communication with IT software, with them receiving all the necessary information and warnings on the required quality control, process parameters and tooling wear.
“Carlo Salvi offered the perfect solution, improving the times and methods of our production process. From a technological point of view, what we most appreciate is certainly the rigid construction, the quick settings, the short changeover times and the two different tanks for machine and tool oil. We had high expectations. We wanted a supplier that was reliable, with proven international experience, but at the same time followed us closely. We have found the right partner,” comments Grzegorz Gawel.
“The collaboration with Solvera Gaweł Technology has allowed us to develop synergies and results that cannot be reached individually. A cohesive group always achieves greater results. With the aim of mutual growth, we want to continue making our skills and technology available,” comments Marco Pizzi, CCO at Carlo Salvi SpA.
