Ray Fu, a specialist in exporting wire and screw products – primarily catering to the construction, automotive, machinery, home appliances and furniture sectors – has established a dedicated service contact in order to support its customers with all requirements when it comes to the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulation.
Established since 2000, Ray Fu Enterprise Co Ltd has an integrated production facility, which offers comprehensive manufacturing capabilities, from wire rod processing through to producing spheroidised wire; as well as fastener production processes from front-end operations (heading, point forming, threading) to the back-end operations (heat treatment and surface treatment).
“We have introduced the dedicated service contact point (CBAM@ray-fu.com.tw) so customers have a clear point of contact with the business when it comes to anything related to CBAM,” reports Ray Fu. “It also means that we can respond to customers’ needs and provide information in a quick and effective manner.”
In addition to the dedicated CBAM service contact point, Ray Fu has also made several other investments including installing smart meters to monitor machine energy consumption during its production processes for wire and screws, as well as during heat treatment.
“Our greenhouse gas inventory reports are also available through ISO 14064-1:2018 verification,” highlights Ray Fu. “This gives customers the opportunity to access further information.”
Ray Fu adds: “We believe CBAM will become a key factor in procurement decisions for EU importers, especially once CBAM is fully implemented and carbon emissions become part of costs. That is why we are closely tracking the latest updates to make sure we can provide all the necessary information as and when needed. For instance, we are in the process of expanding the digital connectivity of our machines, which will further help our customers to access the data they need.”
Ray Fu also plans to further improve its manufacturing processes, transforming traditional processes into digital ones in order to fully disclose machine utilisation and production efficiency, whilst strengthening in-plant energy management systems.
