NORMA Group has been awarded first place in the ‘Equal Opportunities’ category of the ‘German Award for Sustainability Projects 2021’ for its clean water aid project, which has seen the company work with children’s aid organisation Plan International in India and Brazil to improve water supply and ensure equal opportunities.

NORMA Group launched the ‘NORMA Clean Water’ project together with Plan International in 2014 in the greater Pune region in India. During the four year project period, the repairs of the sanitary facilities at a total of 27 schools have provided access to clean water for more than 18,000 schoolchildren and teachers. Since 2017, NORMA Group has been involved in six rural regions in the north-east of Brazil as part of the project. The goal is to improve the water supply there as well. To this end, water supply systems are being built or repaired and water committees are being established in the communities to manage them.
