With a focus on optimising processes and enhancing efficiency, German-based spacer bolt and sleeve manufacturer DREMEC Befestigungselemente GmbH has undergone a period of investment – enabling the company to continue serving its customers with high-quality products and fast delivery times.
Established in 1991, DREMEC’s underlining philosophy is to provide customer satisfaction and short delivery times to its international customer base, through a streamlined, efficient service. To do this, DREMEC CEO Stephan Dressel has made numerous investments, such as the expansion of its production area to 1,650m2 in 2019; accompanied by an expansion to its fully automated warehouse in 2024, which now has over 15,000 places with a total capacity of 35,000 different articles. DREMEC has also recently invested in new machinery, with other machines overhauled to better improve efficiency in the machining processes.
In addition, 2024 saw another investment with the relaunch of DREMEC’s website, to specifically enhance user friendliness. The updated website enables a high-level of visibility, making it easier for DREMEC customers to view framework agreements, current and previous orders and invoices, as well as available stock levels for its entire product catalogue.
DREMEC manufactures a wide variety of spacers in metal, plastic, or metal-plastic combinations, available in lengths of 5mm up to 100mm. The company also supplies a selection of PCB accessories, connecting elements, cable ties and LED hardware. “In addition to our extensive range of standard products, we also work closely with our customers to create bespoke solutions,” highlights Jana Ziegler Silveira, operation manager at DREMEC. “No two spacer bolts are the same, which is why we are happy to work with customers and find customised solutions.” DREMEC also offers comprehensive advice and support for product development – creating samples according to customer drawings and requirements.
Jana underlines: “This close cooperation from the development of the application, all the way through to the finished product, enables us to meet specific customer requirements with high-quality solutions.”
“Quality assurance is a fundamental cornerstone for us – the quality of a product is measured by the degree to which it fulfils customer expectations, which is underlined by the ISO 9001 certificate that we have held for over ten years,” continues Jana. “Our knowledge and understanding of customers’ requirements are at the centre of our business and customers can trust that DREMEC stands for high-quality products.”
To further underline this quality, DREMEC has its own in-house testing facility with state of the art testing equipment. This includes a measuring projector, which can automatically inspect up to 300 pieces in a matter of seconds, as well as digital microscopes to minimise defects. The in-house facility also houses an X-ray fluorescence system to measure the material and coatings of all its products.
“Our in-house testing facility enables us to keep up to date with the latest requirements from our customers and ensure we are answering every industry need,” comments Jana. “An example of this is the rising importance of cleanliness in the final product within the fastener industry. Our in-house degreasing and cleaning system can have full orders cleaned and ready for delivery in a matter of hours.”
“Another key aspect of today’s manufacturing is doing so in a sustainable way. DREMEC has processes in place to maintain a high-level of efficiency and minimise waste,” highlights Jana. Chips from the manufacturing process are processed and cleaned, allowing for oil recovery, which can be fed back into the machine cycle, while the accumulated cleaned scrap is sold off to be melted down for new material. DREMEC’s degreasing machine, which is used during fastener cleaning, also helps to recover oil that is fed back into the production line.
Furthermore, solar panels installed on the company’s site also ensure energy supply derives from renewable sources. Heat generated by machines during the manufacturing process is also captured and redistributed into the central heating and hot water system.
Through this period of investment in modern technology, machinery, as well as a focus on quality, DREMEC is continuing to optimise its processes to provide customers with reliable, high-quality products – quickly and efficiently.
