Founded in 1988 Szatyina Kft has grown from a family business – exclusively engaged in the production of wood screws – to a company that has followed the changing market demands to focus its production on uniquely designed, high strength, special products.
Based in Hungary, Szatyina is able to produce custom designed fasteners by working alongside its customers and has its own in-house heat treatment facilities and quality laboratory to ensure the very highest quality. The company can produce products with a diameter from 1.5mm to 16mm and lengths from 2mm to 320mm.
“We have experience in producing a wide variety of products, including standard fasteners (DIN, ISO, etc), wood screws, stay bolts, flat screws, socket set screws, studs, as well as rivets,” explains Szatyina. “However, we predominately focus on high strength fasteners. Our customers mainly work in the electronics business, as well as construction and automotive sectors, most of which we serve through our wholesale partners, but we are also in touch with end users. Supplying these markets means that the quality of our product is of the upmost importance, which is why we carry out our own heat treatment, have our own quality laboratory, as well as why we applied for and achieved the IATF 16949:2016 certification.”
Initially focused on its domestic market, Szatyina now supplies customers across Europe including to the Swiss, German and Austrian markets. “We are proud of our growth across Europe and we have succeeded in the western European market, as well as central and eastern Europe, thanks to our commitment to quality and working with customers.”
Szatyina also believes the Covid-19 pandemic will lead to further opportunities for it to grow as a business. “Due to the pandemic situation we predict European consumers will start to look at working with European manufacturers, compared to Asian or American manufacturers, even more in the future. This will provide further opportunities for us as a business as we can offer greater reliability, safety and production continuity.”
“As an eastern European manufacturer we cannot only survive but thrive within the market, thanks to our high-level of flexibility and broad product range, especially at a time of similar market difficulties. Before the pandemic, there was already a general decline, which was mainly experienced in the automotive segment. Due to this we placed more emphasis on serving the needs of other areas and have therefore adapted and developed a new strategy for the future that looks at developing our markets.”
Future plans for the business include a bigger factory and manufacturing site, which will provide Szatyina with new capabilities, new technologies, and a new production environment for it to meet modern requirements. “We are proud to be a Hungarian manufacturer and we look forward to developing our capabilities as a business, so that we can continuously supply high-quality products, as well as a high-level of customer satisfaction.”
