G&B Group: Total quality
10 October 2016
Certified quality, experience, research and innovation. These are the keywords that G&B Group has used as the core of its company philosophy when producing high-quality anchors.
Thanks to the flexibility of its production programme, today the company is a manufacturer of nylon fixing systems, as well as steel and chemical anchors, producing products for a variety of fields, including ironmongery, hardware, building, industry, electric, thermo-hydraulic and self-service stores.
“In our awareness and experience there is an element that should never be overlooked – the constant communication and dialogue with the customer,” explains Mr Enrico Galeasso, CEO at G&B Group. “Over time, we have realised that listening to the market is the first step to be able to offer effective responses and really adapt to each specific local situation. This is why we constantly invest in training, both with our sales teams and network of our customers, and we offer customer engagement at stages where selection of the new products and market are made.”
For its quality system control of the production process the Italian company has been DNV GL ISO 9001 certified since 2000. The challenges of a growing and highly competitive market such as construction fixings, both the Italian and European markets, have led to a thorough and more responsible use of resources in order to achieve and control the ‘Total Quality’ in every area of the supply chain, from production to sales, to service.
The key factors in guaranteeing ‘Total Quality’ are:
- Careful selection of raw materials.
- Monitoring of suppliers, all with the highest level of accreditation in Europe.
- Production processes control, from the semi-finished to final product.
- Product testing (mechanical tests for breakage, resistance and traction) performed in laboratories (in-house).
- Quality control testing for finished product.
- Packaging and logistics processes control.
- Advisory services and technical assistance for product selection.
- Technical assistance on-site.
- Training.
New developments
G&B Group is currently working on improving the packaging of its products including: Quality, clearness, appeal, stronger brand identity and usability. For instance, during the recent restyling of chemical anchor labels, the company chose to give more space to the images and decided to add QR codes to enable an instant connection with the company website to find further information.
“We are always looking to improve communication towards our customers,” explains Enrico Galeasso. “We want to provide product upgrades and technical assistance both through our website and through our agents and team.”
G&B Group has commercial offices in Germany, the UK, Spain, Belgium and France. The UK warehouse has been open in Sheffield since February 2013, where the company has sales offices and a large storage area with a complete range of products in-line with the Italian headquarters.
“The latest location we have introduced is G&B Fissaggi France, which was initiated at the beginning of 2016, with a commercial office in Paris,” points out Enrico Galeasso. “Due to the long experience and the deep knowledge of the French market, the Paris team has already promised good results.”
G&B Group has also recently expanded its Italian headquarters, with a warehouse increase of 2,500m2 – granting a wide stock of products that is always available. Also, the entire façade of the main buildings has been renovated with a new modern look.
Future plans
The next trade shows for G&B Group will be Torque Expo, 11th – 12th October 2016, in Silverstone, UK, and the most relevant and consolidated show – Fastener Fair Stuttgart, which will take place on 28th – 30th March 2017.
“At the shows we will show our new products concerning most of all nylon anchors (G&B Fissaggi patented) and a wide range of steel anchors that have ETA certification for structural fixings,” continues Enrico Galeasso. “Amongst our chemical anchors range we have the tradition polyester resin MA MULTI ANCHOR, which has obtained a European Technical Assessment (ETA – 11/0441) CE Option 7 for non-cracked concrete. This further underlines the steps we take to ensure European quality and safety for a competitive market.”
Enrico Galeasso concludes: “We cannot avoid to remark on the recent earthquake that has devastated wide areas of central Italy at the end of August 2016. Supplying the whole market of the building sector and offering fixing systems production, G&B Group feels particularly involved in offering new solutions and anchors for structural fixing in seismic areas. We believe that only the constant effort in research and innovation can ensure a greater awareness in thinking about the environment and its security. The drive to build anti-seismic buildings should be a global and political choice, within a local issue. We will continue to invest and offer certified anchors to solve different construction problems as a priority.”
