Committed to CBAM and ESG 27 May 2025

Since 2023 HISENER has been able to provide importers with the relevant Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulation data, thanks to a key investment in an accounting system, which is helping to guarantee its customers receive the relevant factory data on a quarterly basis – whilst ensuring the company is fully prepared for the full implementation of CBAM in 2026.

HISENER Industrial Co Ltd mainly provides customers with common fasteners such as screws, covering products made of carbon steel and stainless steel materials. “Compared with other competitors, we have significant advantages,” states HISENER. “Our products are self produced and we have been able to establish a complete quality control system to ensure the stability of product quality and delivery time. In addition, we have a modern factory that has fully realised automated production – making our processes as efficient as possible. Thanks to this, we can provide customers with products that offer high cost performance at a more competitive price.”

When it comes to the CBAM regulation, HISENER believes a key aspect will be what the average carbon emissions will be once the regulation comes into full force. “If our carbon emissions are higher than the EU’s figures, then when our customers import from us the carbon related negotiations might have an impact on our business,” explains HISENER. “On the other hand, if our carbon emissions are lower than the EU’s average data, relatively speaking, we will have a better advantage in exporting our products to the EU. That is why we are making every effort to adopt various measures to reduce carbon emissions throughout the entire production process. In this way, we can provide our customers with products that have lower carbon emissions.”

Investing in ESG

As a company HISENER has always attached great importance to the field of ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance). “Long before the announcement of CBAM, we had already taken a number of practical and effective measures, devoting ourselves to reducing carbon emissions throughout the entire production process,” points out the company. “Ensuring the sustainability of production has always been a unremittingly pursued goal and these efforts have never ceased.”

HISENER continues: “That is why as soon as the CBAM regulation was announced we promptly contacted all the suppliers within our entire supply chain. Since then, we have worked hand in hand with them to establish a complete and rigorous data collection system. At the same time, we use this system to accurately calculate the carbon emission data related to CBAM, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data in order to meet the relevant requirements.”

Going forward HISENER plans to continue to invest further in its ESG commitment. “On the environmental aspect, given that the company’s impact mainly stems from energy consumption, waste emissions and resource utilisation, we plan to invest more to enhance the efficiency of energy use, further reduce waste emissions, as well as boost the utilisation of renewable energy,” mentions HISENER. “This will not only help us meet the requirements of CBAM but also contribute to a more sustainable environment.”

Regarding the social aspect, HISENER will invest in maintaining and improving a safe and healthy work environment for its employees, as well as further promoting diversity and inclusiveness. Additionally, more resources will be allocated to ensure social responsibility within the supply chain, guaranteeing that suppliers fully comply with labour rights and human rights regulations.

In terms of governance, the company will invest in continuously improving and establishing a more transparent and regulated corporate governing structure. “Our aim is to strengthen internal governance and risk management, always complying with laws, and ensure the effective formulation and enforcement of corporate ethics and ethical codes of conduct,” reports HISENER.

The company adds: “We believe that in the future, the extremely important CBAM regulation will definitely be further expanded and continued. We also foresee more regulations regarding sustainability and the environment introduced. That is why as a business we will stay committed to continuous investment, to progress towards a more sustainable business model and to have an increasingly positive impact on the global environment, community and society.”
