Cetin obtains GEOMET license 15 May 2025

Cetin Civata has obtained a GEOMET® surface coating license from NOF METAL COATINGS GROUP, becoming a certified member of the GEOMET® global licensee network, for the bulk/dip spin application process – establishing itself as a licensed applicator for the world’s top three internationally recognised zinc flake coating brands.

Awarded in January this year, the additional license further confirms Cetin’s position as one of the biggest fastener manufacturing groups in eastern Europe. The company now holds licenses for MAGNI® – which its held since 2016; DÖRKEN MKS which its held since 2019; and now GEOMET – making it one of the few integrated fastener producers in Europe that is a member of the licensee network of the top three globally recognised zinc flake coating brands.

Nihat Tecdelioglu, board member at Cetin Civata, explains: “As we have been approaching more end user markets in Europe and in the USA in recent years, especially in the main automotive producer industries and it’s subsupplier industries,  the importance of offering and supplying coated and plated fasteners is getting more critical – with demand constantly growing.”

Besides the automotive industry, Cetin has observed rising demand for zinc flake coated parts in the renewable energy, agricultural equipment and countryside construction field industries, seeing its share of sales from coated parts rise from 80% to 95% of the company’s overall turnover.

Nihat adds: “The demand for zinc flake coatings is due to the minimum hyrdrogen embrittlement risk in zinc flake coatings, with these coatings exhibiting an average 840 to 960 hours during the red rust salt spray resistance test. With the support of our growing furnace and dip spin capacities for zinc flake coatings, as well as the newly obtained GEOMET® license, Cetin is well positioned to meet this demand.”

Cetin has a total surface coating capacity of 4,000 metric tonnes of fasteners and metal parts in its facilities in Istanbul for all coating types including zinc flake and electrolytic zinc platings. Nihat states: “The important thing is that Cetin is able to offer and supply our fasteners finished, with all processes in-house – from cold forging up to surface coating. We are able to supply the widest possible coating range demanded in European, North American and Turkish markets.”

Today, Cetin is listed and registered as a vendor at the purchasing panel of the biggest automotive OEMs and carmaker factories in Europe and Turkey, as well as a full service provider for many OEMs, with a continuous focus on customer satisfaction, customer orientation and, above all, quality.
