Best packaging solution for any product type 08 December 2020

After conducting a series of tests, Kronus Ltd – a manufacturer of pallet collars and pallets – has discovered that the most reliable and practical packaging for the transportation and storage of fasteners and fastening parts is the pallet collar.

In total, seven types of packaging, which are widely used for the transportation of both large and small items, were tested – including a cardboard box, a plastic box, a wooden box, a plywood box, disposable plywood packaging, as well as a metal box.

A total of 22 parameters were compared, such as protection of the goods; compliance with international standards; lifespan of the packaging; possibility of reuse and resale; convenience of use; and a selection of other parameters.

Results showed that the wooden pallet collar was the most reliable and practical type of packaging for the transportation and storage of fasteners and fastening parts. The pallet collar proved to be significantly superior to other types of packaging solutions in 21 criteria. Regarding resale value and the use of empty packaging for delivery over long distances – the pallet collar was superior to all other types of packaging solutions.

In addition, the pallet collar is an environmentally friendly packaging solution made from recyclable materials using an environmentally friendly paint, which does not pose risks to human health or the environment, as evidenced by international certificates.

Kronus was established in 1995 as a small wooden packaging producer and has grown into a high-tech enterprise with a production capacity of over 6 million pallet collars and two million pallets per year. Headquartered in Latvia, the company has sales offices in Germany, China and Lithuania, as well as exporting its products to 53 countries around the world. Its key markets are Germany, Italy, the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, South Korea and Latvia.
