OSN appoints Scandinavian distributor 02 March 2016

The Oxford Steel Nail Company (OSN) has announced Claessons Trätjära AB, based in Göteborg, Sweden, as its new Scandinavian distributor.

Alfred Kennedy, managing director at OSN, commented: "With Claessons Trätjära's orders increasing yearly, and more enquiries coming from Scandinavia, the time was right to have a Scandinavian distributor in place. Having visited Claessons Trätjära it became obvious they were well equipped to be our Scandinavian distributor.”

Claessons Trätjära has developed a philosophy of stocking products that other suppliers have discontinued. Along with this idea, they supply several kinds of cut nails for the Scandinavian market, both for historical, traditional use and also for modern applications.

Oxford Steel Nail Company is able to produce a wide variety of special cut nails, including: Rose head nails, bloc nails, building nails and rose head flat point, as well as hot dipped galvanised boat nails.

“The flat point boat nails are used in wooden boat building and boat building restoration,” points out Alfred. “In fact, this is how Staffan Claesson started Claessons Trätjära by restoring his old boat. Since then the company has grown and part of its stock now includes fixings and fasteners for the boat industry, as well as the building industry.”

Alfred concludes: “We are delighted to be working with Claessons Trätjära for the Scandinavian market and are currently seeking worldwide distributors – particularly in Australia, UAE, Germany and France.”
