fischer tops €800 million for first time 06 April 2018

The fischer Group of Companies achieved 2017 sales of €812 million, a 9% increase on its 2016 total. Adjusted for exchange rates growth was 10%. All fischer divisions achieved good turnover growth.

fisher Group comprises fischer fixing systems, fischer automotive systems, fischertechnik, fischer Consulting and LNT Automation, the final 10% in the latter being acquired in 2017. fischer also acquired shares of 3D printing start-up ‘trinckle 3D’ last year and also bought into other start-ups. fischer Consulting founded subsidiaries in Italy and China in 2017, continuing its internationalisation strategy.

By the end of 2017, the fischer Group had increased its number of employees by 400 to a total of 5,000 – underlining its reputation as an excellently positioned medium-sized family business.

Education has been of utmost importance at fischer since the beginning. 105 apprentices and dual education students are currently employed by the company. Overall, fischer provides training for 29 different technical and commercial jobs. 825 young people applied to 41 apprenticeship and dual education study places during the past financial year. fischer received multiple awards for its excellent training, which offers far more than other training companies with various seminars, initiatives and placements abroad. Since it opened in 2010, the Klaus Fischer BildungsZentrum (education centre) has recorded over 8,500 registrations for over 560 free events, which fischer employees can attend outside of working hours.

The fischer Group of Companies has also successfully operated at an international level for several decades. fischer’s Czech Republic subsidiary celebrated its 20 year anniversary with the opening of a new 7,200m2 production facility, at which 1,900 different fixing products are manufactured for export across the globe.

Chinese subsidiary fischer fixings Co Ltd in Taicang also looks back on a successful 20 years of company history, celebrating in June with the opening of a new 10,500m2 production facility for the fischer automotive systems division. Particular attention was given to a sustainable method of construction for the modern building and fischer is pooling its manufacturing capacities in order to supply the Asian region even more efficiently. In Buenos Aires, fischer Argentina also looked back on its 20 year history in 2017.

In Germany, fischer opened a new location in Freiburg, comprising a total site area of 13,900m2 with 8,600m2 productive floor space. Relocating the operation from the neighbouring town of Emmendingen – previous site of the Upat brand.

The Group forecasts a similar level of turnover growth in 2018 and anticipates further companies joining fischer.
