Bernd Kleinhens (main picture), chairman of the management board of NORMA Group, will leave the management board by mutual agreement by 31st July 2019. Dr Michael Schneider will take over the duties of chairman of the management board ad interim additionally to his function as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Lars Magnus Berg, chairman of the supervisory board, said: “We thank Bernd Kleinhens for his outstanding accomplishments during almost 30 years in the NORMA Group. Over the course of his longstanding affiliation to NORMA Group he has decisively helped to shape the group’s track of growth and success.”
Bernd Kleinhens entered one of the predecessor companies of NORMA Group in 1991 as development engineer. He has since held various positions and leadership functions, and became a managing director in 2005. He was appointed to the management board of NORMA Group in 2011 responsible for business development. He has been chairman of the management board since the beginning of 2018. Under his leadership NORMA Group has expanded its business areas in a strategically sustainable manner, such as the growth markets electromobility and water management.
“With Dr Michael Schneider, we ensure the continuity of the group’s management,” says Lars Magnus Berg. “We are happy that the experienced industry and finance manager will take over the duties of the chairman of the management board ad interim additionally to his CFO responsibilities. We are convinced that together with his colleague on the management board, COO Dr Friedrich Klein, he will successfully develop NORMA Group further.”
The Supervisory Board is initiating the process to find a definitive solution to fill the position as chairman of the management board.
Dr Michael Schneider has been a member of the management board and CFO of NORMA Group since 1st July 2015. Before that, he has held long-standing leadership positions for several companies in the automotive, chemical and pharmaceutical industries, in Germany as well as abroad.
