Bossard Group has acquired shares in MultiMaterial-Welding GmbH, which it says will enable it to further consolidate its position as an innovation driver in fastening technology, as well as expand its portfolio with forward-looking lightweight fastening solutions.
Bossard explains that the decisive factor in the acquisition of the shareholding was the outstanding technology which precisely meets the needs of the industry. With the innovative MM-Welding technology, the automotive and transport industry can be offered fastening solutions that open completely new possibilities.
Florian Heuter, vice-president products at Bossard, commented: "MM-Welding recognised early on that the cross-industry trend towards lightweight materials such as fibre composites or sandwich panels requires new approaches in fastening technology. With MM-Welding technology, the company has developed a solution that allows the secure and durable joining of porous materials and is therefore in great demand on the market.”
As concrete next steps, Bossard is now planning to integrate the various technologies of MM-Welding ideally into its own product portfolio and to make them even better known in the market. At the same time, the specialists at MM-Welding will continue to work on new, innovative technologies in the field of joining technology. Currently, the company already offers six technologies that are on their way to broad industrialisation. This includes the LiteWWeight® Pin connection solution, which enables the simple, cost-effective, and secure connection of lightweight composite materials.
"We see MM-Welding's technology platform as a forward-looking product approach with great market potential," says Florian Heuter.
