‘One stop shop’ for standard and special fasteners 26 January 2023

Berdan Cıvata’s processes are all carried out in-house, from raw material to final product dispatch, with a commitment to quality, sustainability, traceability, reliability and integrity during every stage.

Established in 1979 in a small 150m² workshop with five employees, by Yunus and Hasan Şemsi, Berdan today continues its activities with 450 employees, of which 80 are engineers in a 49,000m² fully integrated factory.

The company’s facilities include hot and cold forging, machining, roll threading, tooling, AMS 2750 accredited heat treatment, surface treatment (hot dipped galvanisation, electro galvanisation, zinc flake coating, teflon/xylan coating, zinc phosphatising, black oxide, etc), as well as an R&D centre and ISO EN/IEC 17025 accredited test laboratory.

This laboratory houses a 750 tonne capacity tensile test device, which Berdan explains is Europe’s strongest tensile test device – patented by the company. Berdan is also able to implement over twenty different quality control tests in this laboratory, including torque friction test, micro hardness, chemical analysis, Charpy impact test, and magnetic particle test.

Berdan’s production range starts with M16 (⅝ inches) diameter and 30mm length and goes up to M155 (6 inches) diameter and 18,000mm length – according to international standards (DIN, ISO, EN, BS, ASTM, etc) and customised technical drawings.
