New double blow header model with threading unit 09 February 2023

Well known as a leader in the designing and manufacturing of combined headers, SACMA Group has introduced the KSP12-R, a new combined header model with an integrated threading station ‘all in one’.

SACMA Group has a wide range of combined headers that are available to produce fasteners from M4 to M24. These machines are suitable to run fasteners and special automotive screws and bolts by producing the finished parts directly from wire. They are used for high productivity requirements; consolidation of production methods; floor space utilisation; and workflow in the fasteners manufacturing process – thanks to them having the forming, pointing and thread rolling ‘all in one’ machine.

The new KSP12-R is for fasteners from M3 to M8 with a maximum shaft length of 60mm and combines typical SACMA solutions, proven by thousands of machines – with the most advanced mechatronic technology available in the market. It consists of a one piece main frame – cast perlitic iron, normalised, natural aged for at least 12 months, high precision machined – which SACMA reports is a guarantee of rigidity and stability for all the machine life.

Other developments include major set-up adjustments are now motorised for a quick and friendly changeover, such as S-feed wire feeder driven by torque motor, motorised wire stock gauge and DKO, and the threading starter driven by torque motor – with self-learning function borrowed from Ingramatic rollers.

The quality management is facilitated by two gates interfaced with the load monitoring system and discharging NC parts respectively after the header and after the roller. An optional sophisticated load control system protects the machine against overloads and monitors the forming and rolling processes.  Scraps separators in different sizes are also available when producing self-tapping screws.

“All these features make the KSP12-R the best value for customers’ investments, especially when running parts traditionally by a line of connected machines,” explains SACMA.
