The International Fastener Show China, scheduled for 21-23 October 2018, has announced a series of events to run alongside it, as well as confirming support from the China Fastener Industry Association and a tie-up with Deutsche Messe.
The International Fastener Show China is organised by Shanghai Afastener Exhibition Co., Ltd and, it has now been confirmed, Hannover Milano Fairs Shanghai Ltd. It will take place at the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Centre, Shanghai.
The China Fastener Industry Association - part of the Government-approved China General Machine Components Industry Association - has switched its support from the long running June Fastener Exhibition in Shanghai, now organised by the ITE Group, a UK exhibition specialist that bought into the original organisers, Shanghai Ebseek in 2015.
Newly elected president of the CFIA, Mr Xue Kangsheng, told a press event earlier in November that ‘the new event reflected China’s transition into a manufacturing powerhouse and was targeted at improving economic growth between China and countries around the world’. Mark Siemering, senior vice president of Deutsche Messe AG, who also attended, said that ‘cooperating with the CFIA and CGMCIA was a win-win for business and customers’.
IFS China also announced three events to run concurrent with the new show. The most significant for its credibility is The Five Region Fastener Association Conference 2018, occurring annually and attended by senior delegates from the fastener industry associations in Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Hong Kong, as well as China. IFS China also announced a European and North American Fastener Conference, which appears similar to a previous regular feature of the June fastener show – and a Fastener Technology Seminar.
IFS China is aiming to have 700 exhibitors by October. In the three months since it launched it says it has signed up around 180 companies equivalent to 9000m2 of exhibition space, including a Taiwan pavilion.
Two other Fastener industry exhibitions are scheduled in Shanghai in 2018 and have active websites. They are:
• Fastener Expo Shanghai 2018, organised by Shanghai ITE Ebseek Exhibition Co, on 20-22 June at The National Exhibition and Convention Centre, Qingpu District.
• Fastener Shanghai, organised by Chinafastener.info, alongside the Messe Dusseldorf Wire and Tube China, 26-29 September, at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
The website for a fourth event, scheduled for 4-6 June, from an organiser called World Fastener Expos now appears to be inactive.
