Bossong has launched the E-Plus bi-component styrene-free pure epoxy resin – an earthquake resistant and green chemical anchor created to meet the needs of the construction sector while also respecting the environment.
E-Plus is the newest version of the original Epoxy21 from the 1990s. It has many features and benefits including a 100 year service life, which is twice the standard 50 years. As well as this, the E-Plus has applicability in flooded holes tested underwater; it is fire resistance up to a maximum of R24; and has a natural ability to penetrate in holes and hollow materials thanks to the successful combination of fluidity and adherence – reaching up to 2.5 metres of extrusion. There is also no expansion or shrinking, making the epoxy suitable for use with masonry, wood, and concrete, in a range of temperatures that allows use at 50°C, as well as a strong grip on smooth surfaces such as core holes.
E-Plus, just like the Epoxy21 before it, has been developed following the earthquake that devastated L’Aquila in 2009 and Bossong SpA states the chemical anchor is the first product in the world to obtain the C2 aseismic certification for fixing standard threaded rods.
The chemical anchor has obtained numerous certifications including EOTA approval for concrete bonding in accordance with EAD 330499-01-0601 and EAD 330087-01-0601. Its aseismic performance is especially notable as it is double that of the current product and has obtained the highest C2 rating for M12 and M24. “It is the ‘jewel in the crown’ of this new 3:1 formula capable of reacting efficiently to significant earth movements, just as the certified aseismic rebar rods with 12mm – 32mm diameter,” explains Bossong. All Bossong chemical anchors are also qualified according to the LEED protocol concerning the certification of VOC content (Volatile Organic Compounds) and have obtained the highest qualification level, i.e. A+ rating of the French regulation.
Bossong has also recently invested in a new logistics centre, which has enabled the company to completely automate its warehouse and connect it with all the latest technologies – leaving more space in the main building for additional production lines. The centre is also connected using 4.0 next generation technologies and robotics.
In addition, Bossong has just installed 1,250m2 of photovoltaic panels, providing a power of approximately 200kW per year. This is part of the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint; a circular economy approach that it says benefits the entire community.
