Klimas woodscrews achieve ICC Report 14 March 2025

After two years of commitment, numerous advanced tests and analyses, Klimas woodscrews have become the first of the Polish brand’s product group to receive an ICC Report with the number ESR-5302.

The ICC Report is an elaborate document for which much more testing and analysis is required than in the case of European certification. Klimas Wkręt-met outlines: “Thus, our screws were subjected to a series of tests, including tensile strength, bending yield strength, withdrawal resistance, head pull-through resistance, lateral resistance or specifying the minimum edge distances and spacings between screws.”

Based on the test results, Klimas woodscrews have been approved for use in solid wood - sawn lumber, glued laminated timber (glulam), cross-laminated timber (CLT) and laminated veneer lumber (LVL).

Paweł Adamus, Technical Manager at Klimas (right), highlights: “The ICC Report confirms the highest standard of workmanship of our woodscrews. We are very proud of this, because the whole process was really long and required the commitment and work of many people, especially from the technical point of view. However, these nearly two years of advanced testing and analysis crown a great success.”

The report also confirms the superior quality of the woodscrews and opens up new business opportunities for the brand. With this document, Klimas fasteners are approved for use in the USA. “Thanks to the ICC Report, the brand will be available on the North American market, with the prospect of new, previously unattainable impressive mass timber projects ahead,” comments Slawomir Iwanicki, business development manager at Klimas.

He continues: “The United States is a country where mass timber structures have been experiencing rapid growth in popularity in recent years. Skyscrapers, apartment buildings or public buildings are being constructed there using this technology, with attention paid both to reducing the carbon footprint and to exceptional aesthetics of this material.”

At Klimas, we have consistently focused on wood for several years, putting a lot of effort into the technological improvement of our screws for wooden structures,” adds Slawomir. “In this sector we offer interesting solutions and products that meet the highest standards and the ICC Report is the best proof of this.”
