Small diameter wave springs meet growing demands 03 March 2023

In response to increased demand from sectors including medical, electronics, and consumer products, for smaller, lighter assemblies with greater efficiencies and lower manufacturing costs, Rotor Clip now has the capability of manufacturing smaller-sized wave springs ranging from 3mm – 635mm (0.118 inches – 25 inches) in size.

Rotor Clip points out that wave springs can offer up to 50% of axial space savings compared to conventional coil springs, while providing the same force and deflection. They don’t suffer from torsional loading and twisting that can cause wear, with further benefits including increased travel distances and the ability to self-locate in bored holes and shafts.

Rotor Clip’s vertically integrated manufacturing process, involving in-house wire production, process control, and metallurgical expertise, enables the company to respond quickly to varying customer requirements using standard materials, such as carbon and stainless steels, Inconel, Elgiloy, and Hastelloy. Customised options including spring force and work height, cycle life, nested coiling, wire thickness, and coiling direction, are also available. In addition to this smaller-sized wave springs range, Rotor Clip has also introduced new, standard series small, 0.188 inch and 6mm, outside diameter wave springs.

“Our retaining rings, wave springs, and self-compensating hose clamps, meet the needs of manufacturing industries, including automotive, aerospace, defence, energy, medical and others,” states Rotor Clip.
