NORMA Group has received a major order from a premium German car manufacturer to develop and produce V-profile clamps. The joining products will be used in the battery degassing system of three car model series with hybrid drives.
Around 1.2 million vehicles are to be equipped with NORMA Group products from 2020 to 2027. “Our products contribute to the safety of vehicle occupants when used in the battery degassing system of hybrid vehicles,” explains Dr Michael Schneider, CEO of NORMA Group. “Winning this order shows that our established joining products are also suited for use in future technologies, such as hybrid and electric mobility.”
NORMACONNECT V-profile clamps are used for the permanently reliable connection of the degassing line and the connector to the housing of the battery used for the electric drive of hybrid vehicles. The degassing lines are safety devices that come into play in the event of a crash. In this case, the battery can be short circuited, resulting in hot gases under high-pressure in the battery housing. Through the degassing lines connected to the battery housing, these gases are discharged from the battery in a controlled manner and vented to the outside.
NORMACONNECT V-profile clamps are manufactured at NORMA Group’s plant in Gerbershausen, Thuringia, Germany.
