UK-based Boltight Limited has been at the forefront of the bolt tensioning industry for many years. Founded in 1999, the company was recently acquired by Nord-Lock Group.
Bolt tensioning products from Boltight feature advanced technology and are designed and manufactured to the highest standards – helping them gain a global reputation. This has led to them being used in demanding environments ranging from energy to engineering, as well as construction and mining.
Often bolted joints do not receive sufficient attention during a project design phase, which can lead to tightening problems during project construction and maintenance. “Boltight can provide solutions,” says founder Fred Heaton, a leading pioneer in hydraulic bolt tensioning. “We can solve many of these bolt tightening problems using either our standard bolt tensioning tools or we can design and manufacture special tools depending upon the customer’s needs.”
Boltight has built up a vast experience and database of designed solutions, which, in combination with the expertise vested in the Boltight engineers, ensures that its customers will always receive cost-effective and high-quality tools for their bolting challenge.
Known for its innovative capabilities, Boltight has recently introduced several product developments including tailor-made powerful tool kits to install and remove tensioned casing bolts on gas turbines. These tools, like many other Boltight solutions, deliver considerable time savings and cost reduction opportunities for customers. In addition, Boltight has extended its range of ultrasonic measurement devices, which can accurately measure and record bolt load, stress and elongation.
In September last year, Boltight was acquired by the Nord-Lock Group. The addition of hydraulic bolt tensioning to the mechanical Superbolt® multi-jackbolt tensioners, enables the Nord-Lock Group to offer a complete tensioning package with immense experience and knowledge, and thus be able to recommend the best tensioning option for any application.
