When disconnecting the fuel pipe from the filter housing, VAG fuel filter hose clamps can prove tricky to remove due to their spring loaded design.
Whilst other hose clamp pliers require constant and even pressure to be applied to the plier handles to successfully slide the clamps along the fuel pipe, the Sykes-Pickavant Double-X hose clamp plier features an innovative ratchet lock, which retains the open position of the clamp for quick and easy removal.
Due to the brittle nature of this hose clamp type, they are also susceptible to snapping under the uneven pressure, applied using regular hose clamp pliers, which can be avoided using the Sykes-Pickavant solution, allowing removed clamps to be refitted and reused as required.
Two versions of Skyes-Pickavant Double-X hose clamp pliers are available; the 03277000 straight plier and 03278000 bent plier – both with a new multi-angle gripping head for increased access possibilities in hard to reach areas and narrow spaces.
