Captive style fastener prevents over tightening 14 March 2017

Southco® has expanded its DZUS® Quarter-Turn product line with a captive style fastener that prevents over tightening.

DZUS® D9 Tech Line Quarter-Turn fasteners combine Southco’s quarter turn and captive fastening technologies to create a next generation solution that the company says provides consistent, reliable clamping force and quick access.

Available in press in, flare in and surface mount technology styles, the DZUS® D9 Tech Line is available in a variety of stud lengths and mating recepatacle options to accommodate varying panel thickness ranges. Additionally, the DZUS® D9 Tech Line is available with a standard bright metal or ‘prism’ coloured head that can be used to designate access through an array of standard and custom colour options.

“With its quick access design and tool-free operation, Southco’s DZUS® D9 Tech Line Quarter-Turn fasteners provide accurate, secure engagement and vibration resistance. The captive, spring loaded design provides a set amount of clamping force when fastened, preventing hardware from becoming damaged by over tightening,” comments Jim Grady, global product manager at Southco.
