Videx line for chamfered and threaded bars 13 October 2022

Videx is offering added capacity to customers through its fully automatic line for long bars, incorporating a bar feeder from bulk, bar shear, a chamfer machine (dual side) and thread rolling machine.

Videx explains that the long bars are loaded on the machine by the operator.  The machine then starts by shaking the bars, arranging them and feeding them from the bulk feeder into the one-row magazine, from where they are fed into the chamfer machine. Once chamfered, the bars move to the thread rolling station, where they are threaded on both ends.

The machine is equipped with the largest gear box that Videx Machine Engineering Ltd has ever supplied, assuring the full torque even for harder steel grades. The Videx chamfer and stations work dry and clean, automatically collecting the chips off the work area. The parts are positively gripped in the chamfer station, assuring smooth, vibration-free chamfers with longer life to the chamfer cutting tips.

The feed of the bars into the thread rolling dies is also controlled. A set of sensors check the position of the bars along the feed process into the dies and makes sure the feed is absolutely parallel, eliminating any risk of damage to the thread rolling dies due to improper feed. The line also works from coil.
