Tecfi expands site and production processes 11 October 2016

With production processes that include metal sheet stamping, plastic material injection, rubber material injection and wire cold forming, Tecfi SpA has further increased its capabilities with the introduction of a 7,000m2 production site.

The new production site has been developed to enhance Tecfi’s internal production capacity, offering additional space for the technical department – enabling the company to maintain a high-level service that its customers have come to rely on.
Since it was founded, Tecfi has invested in a high-tech laboratory, an advanced quality control system, and a qualified team, which have become the strongholds that enable Tecfi to gain competitive advantages – represented by patents and very strict product certifications.
The advanced assessment laboratory is today equipped with the most important and certified facilities, testing from the raw material to the finished product, through mechanical, metallurgical and corrosion tests, assuring customers a highly qualified product. In the last year the laboratory has been equipped with the very latest facilities for static, dynamic and seismic load tests, for the research and the development of anchors to be used in cracked concrete and seismic zones.
In the direction of providing safer solutions to engineers and craftsman, in fact, Tecfi’s R&D department has been studying a lot on seismic topics. As a result, in April 2015, Tecfi reports it was the first company in the world to get the C2 Performance Category for the installation in high seismic hazard zones for its HXE-CONCRETO® concrete screws.
The C2 Performance Category is available now on diameter 16mm and soon will be extended to diameters 10mm and 12mm. It comes in addition to other two ranges of anchors that got the C2 Performance Category in 2014 – AJE wedge anchors and SWE dual component epoxy resin. The company also mentions that its HVE-ROCK® heavy-duty anchors, which already has C1 Performance Category, will soon get the C2 Performance Category.
In addition to fixings for seismic area, Tecfi manufactures a very wide range of sleeve anchors (several shapes and heads), which have received ETA-CE Option 7 for non cracked concrete. In addition to anchors, Tecfi manufactures a lot of other products through the stamping of metal sheet, including wood connectors (with ETA-CE), saddle washers and many other metal accessories.
About 7 years ago, Tecfi started a new manufacturing process – plastic and rubber material injection. Nylon and HDPE plugs and anchors, EPDM umbrella gaskets, as well as plastic and rubber accessories, started to be 100% produced by Tecfi. In particular, VS-Handyplug® nylon façade anchors received a great response from the market, thanks to its outstanding performances and ETA (ETA – 13/0135) values. Moreover, in 2015 Tecfi launched its new ZZE-Handyplug®, the HDPE multi-purpose anchor for ETICS, which received a very high grade ETA (ETA – 15/0641) for a wide spread of base materials (a, b, c, d and e). In the last year, Tecfi has also started to manufacture multi-expansion nylon anchors, which the company has applied for CE Marking.
The final manufacturing process that Tecfi introduced was wire cold forming. The company is now able to produce in-house screws and bolts, through the most technologically advanced Italian multi-station and 1 die 2 blow heading machines and threading machine.
The widening of the production and the implementation of its capacity, together with the big investments in terms of laboratory equipment and staff, are clear evidence that Tecfi is investing more and more capital and energy to bring back to Italy all its strategical functions.
