A riveting performance from Owlett-Jaton 07 March 2016

The UK’s leading supplier of fasteners and fixings to the distributor and merchant trade, Owlett-Jaton, has announced it is now the master distributor of the renowned riveting range from Scell-It®.

Rivets are widely used in applications where lightweight and high strength are critical, such as construction, electrical, HVAC, automotive and telecommunication industries. From the simplest assembly to the most demanding technical fastening, the Scell-It® range offers a solution that is resistant to corrosion, traction and shear.

Offering an attractive alternative to welding and adhesive joints, in various assembly operations, Scell-It helps to control production costs to provide an effective means of assembly.

Commenting on the cooporation between the two companies, Tony Williams, national sales manager at Owlett-Jaton, said: “The partnership that now exists between Scell-It and Owlett-Jaton provides our customers with the most efficient means of sourcing a quality blind rivet, without the relatively high carriage paid order barriers currently in place elsewhere.”

Produced from tough metals such as aluminium, steel and stainless steel, the rivets retain their structure minimising breakages, chipping and deformations. Developed by some of the most technically advanced engineers in the world, the range provided by Scell-It includes blind rivets, multi-grip rivets, sealed rivets, peel rivets, knurled inserts and tooling.

There are multiple benefits and advantages to customers having an account with both Owlett-Jaton and Scell-It: “It’s consistency of brand,” explains Tony. “Most of us have experienced the trepidation a customer has shown when faced with a change of brand, especially a blind rivet. The combination of using both Owlett-Jaton and Scell-It to satisfy the needs of the end user is one that has proven very successful in other areas such as abrasives, silicones and sealants.”

Tony adds: “Owlett-Jaton works very closely with Scell-It to ensure the customers that we share, enjoy the benefits and service available from the supporting role we both provide. Whether the request is for large volumes, or an urgent requirement, you can be assured the solution is found right here with Owlett-Jaton and Scell-It.”

Owlett-Jaton has a user-friendly Scell-It brochure available upon request, providing customers with detailed information on the different rivets available.

And the winners are…

Hexstone Group has announced the winners of the various competitions it ran at the first Torque-Expo at the end of 2015. Visitors were given the chance to win iPods, a Ferrari driving experience, and a TAG Heuer designer watch, by taking part in competitions run on the Hexstone stand.

To be in with a chance of winning the TAG watch, Hexstone handed out scratch cards to visitors, which featured a lap time that had to match one displayed on the Hexstone stand. Attendees also competed for the fastest completed lap in the driving simulators that were also present on the stand. Ten Ferrari drive experiences were awarded to the drivers of the top five times on both days during the morning, with an iPod offered to the winner of the fastest time in the afternoon.
