Nimbus takes over Dresselhaus 27 January 2020

The four owner families of Joseph Dresselhaus GmbH & Co KG have sold their shares to Dutch-German industrial holding company Nimbus as part of a successor solution. The takeover is still subject to approval by the relevant antitrust authorities in Germany and Turkey, but is expected to be completed in February 2020.

As a family owned company, Dresselhaus has become one of the leading supply chain solution providers in the fields of fastening technology and fasteners in Germany and Europe since its founding in 1950. The range of services includes both C-parts management for industrial customers and point of sale solutions for retail customers. With approximately 800 employees in five locations in Germany, France, Russia and Turkey, Dresselhaus generates annual sales of around €220 million.

"With Nimbus we have got an experienced investor with an excellent understanding of our business model and market, with whom we can expand our core business in a targeted manner," comments Jürgen Nordhus, who will continue to act as Managing Director of Dresselhaus.

The industrial holding Nimbus, founded in the Netherlands in the 1990s, has a portfolio of more than 30 European companies and has a cumulative turnover of around €2 billion in the German-Dutch area. The holding company specifically acquires companies that are at a turning point in their development and actively supports them. It is crucial for Nimbus that new investments have a healthy core and optimisation potential through growth, new developments and operational improvements.

"We are delighted that the shareholders of Dresselhaus have placed their trust in us to lead the company, which was built up over three generations by the shareholder families, into the next phase of its corporate development," emphasises Kaj Grichnik, partner in charge at Nimbus.
